Balmattum Pty Ltd (Balmattum) (us, we, our) offers an online English language tutoring service called Balmattum Tutor and runs the website balmattumtutor.com (the Service). The Service is for adults over 18 years (students).
This document explains the rules for using the Service. Please read it carefully before you book a lesson. You can contact us through our website.
Tutoring Services
Balmattum helps students improve their English language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The Service is only for adults (18+).
Lessons are held online using Zoom, so you need a good internet connection. Each lesson lasts 50 minutes. We do not give exams or certificates, and lessons will not be recorded.
After you pay for a lesson, you will get a link to join the Zoom meeting. Check our website for available days and times.
If your tutor cannot make it to a lesson, we will offer you another time or give you a full refund if you cannot agree to the new time.
Service Recipient
The person who receives the tutoring is the same person who booked the Service.
Third-Party Services
The Service may show links to other websites or services. We are not responsible for these third-party services or their content. Use them at your own risk.
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
We use AI to assist us make content for the Service and marketing. All content is human reviewed and edited prior to use and publication.
Copyright
Balmattum owns the rights to all materials we create. Do not copy, download, or share our materials without permission.
Privacy Policy
We collect and use your information according to our Privacy Policy, which you can find on our website. By accepting these terms, you agree to our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer
Balmattum can change the Service at any time and is not responsible for any mistakes. We do not guarantee that Zoom is free from viruses. Use any information we provide at your own risk. Balmattum is not responsible for any damages you may suffer while using the Service.
Code of Conduct
All lessons are meant to be safe for everyone. Tutors will behave professionally. Students should pay attention and engage in lessons. Disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated. If a student behaves poorly, we may cancel their lesson and future bookings without a refund.
Payments
The cost of each lesson is shown on our website in Australian dollars, including tax. Payments are made online with a credit card or Paypal when booking a lesson.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or change a lesson, you must inform us at least 24 hours in advance for a full refund. If you cancel within 24 hours, no refund will be given. If you do not show up for a lesson and do not cancel, no refund will be provided.
Dispute Resolution
If you have a problem with us, follow these steps:
1. Discuss it with us by email.
2. Try to resolve it through discussion.
3. Try to negotiate a solution.
4. If not resolved in 14 days, we can go to mediation in Melbourne, Australia, with costs split between us.
Legal Liability
Balmattum tries its best to help you learn English but is not responsible for your progress or actions. We are not responsible for problems caused by others or outside events that affect lessons. Balmattum is not liable for damages. Our maximum liability is the amount you paid for the Service.
Termination of Agreement
If no disruptive student behaviour occurs, either you or Balmattum can end the Service agreement by giving 24 hours’ notice in writing. Any unpaid fees will still be due.
